Community
is full of dishonest people but you can minimize hiring them in order to avoid
irreparable issues. Keep in mind that you
can always train the missing skills to employees but it is rare to create those
values from the ones who lack of them and that’s why, you can follow these
methods to guide you.
Put Ethical Requirements at the Forefront of Job Listings
Besides putting required skillsets , company can put and
describe moral details that are value in company’s applications up front. Anyhow
compromising only either ethics or skillsets is a bad idea because company
needs both qualifications. Company should not compromise if the value doesn’t match
up.
Look for Ethics Training or Experience on Applications
Company
can ask about certifications or training in ethics during pre-screening .
Watch for Red Flags on Resumes
like these examples:
- Unusual career transitions
such as, leaving after short period of time
- Long gaps in work history with
no explanation
- Disproportionate job titles
for their experience. Be suspicious of the ones who have short work
experience yet get fast promotion to top position
- Failure to follow directions.
If the applicant doesn’t customize their documents for your application,
they’re self-filtering.
Background Checks / Investigation of Violations
When allowing employees to report violations, you
need to make it clear that all accusations are taken seriously and will be
investigated. Dig as deeply as is necessary to determine the truth of the
matter that this accusation is not made
up to removing people they do not like.

Make Ethics Part of Company Core Brand and Massage.
Ethical
people want to work for ethical companies because honest employees burn out
quickly when they work with dishonest people. Make ethics one of company core
values, company strategy and marketing messages to attract ethical
applicants. Share examples of ethics in action within your company and nominate employees for awards to maintain this
traits.
Interview with Ethics
Questions
Rather
than judging a written answer to a common question, you can judge a response
delivered in real-time not just based on their answer, but based on the
situation, their response to it, and how they deliver their story. The challenge is that put candidates in a
hypothetical situation and ask how they would respond candidates with
unforeseen challenges, making it harder for them to prep. Candidate is asked to talk about situations they’ve encountered in
the past. to work out whether they’re telling you what they actually did
Involve Your Best Employees in Interviews
These
employees can help judge the applicant’s character and how their personality
will fit with the team you have already established. With their different
concerns and perspectives, they can offer their opinions on to of more
objective measurements of a candidate’s suitability. Keep reminding that
bringing hiring ethical employee methods, requires a lot of work but once that
process is established, the benefits compound upon themselves for as long as
you can maintain your ethical standards.

Be clear about employee’s
characters
Write
out a detailed profile of the attitudes and moral values you are looking for.
Then, don’t settle for anything less. In your job descriptions and postings,
make it clear your company will accept only ethical business practices
Conclusion
Good moral company will attract good moral employees. The company can inform their standards and morals from the recruiting process , either by interviewing or explaining to the interviewer to find out that both the interviewer and company have the same ethical values. If the company support those people and put their ethical actions as an example, a praised employees will not only be proud but will also maintain this behavior.
My Reflection and Key takeaway :
In order to recruit the right person that suits the company
value , ethics and policies, HRM must take time to comprehend the
applicants very well even before interview. HRM needs to work as company gate
and security to observe and screen first hand. HRM should set the standard
process as company recruiting policies, therefore, future recruiting team will
follow that standard and save time for both applicants and recruitment team as
well.

I could not agree more, any business or any organization (either profit or non profit) should have clear goal or purpose and communicate to employees including stakeholders with transparency.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would be nice to know that the company I apply has the same value and goal as me. Otherwise employees could secretly against the core value it which brings less productivity.
DeleteUtilizing senior employees for selecting process of candidate is great idea because those senior employees has developed and retain organization value and ethic. Their judgment for selecting process can filter best fitted candidates for organization.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea since the seniors have more experience and can have different point of views from accumulated years of work experience
